ROLE of the POSITION
The EAS Center of Excellence (COE) team provides Salesforce best practices guidance, system support, and development for business units, not only in Enrollment and Student Services, but across the University. Reporting to the COE Director, the Salesforce Senior Administrator is an integral member of the COE team responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the UNLV Salesforce system as well and acting as a champion system use and process improvement within our Salesforce ecosystem. The Salesforce Senior Admin will ensure the UNLV Salesforce system is operational, efficient, and satisfies the needs of users. In addition to the day-to-day administrative responsibilities, the Salesforce Senior Admin will be responsible for working with the COE and EAS teams to continually configure the system in ways that best leverage the technology to support business processes and improve efficiency and service.
Responsibilities
- Customization of standard objects including creation of custom fields, utilization of formulas and validations
- Development and maintenance of process automation tools such as workflow rules, Process Builder and Lightning Flows and Screen Flows
- Managing and maintaining security including roles, profiles, permissions, and object and community sharing rules
- Monitoring and maintaining data quality and integrity
- Reviewing release notes, testing, and disseminating relevant release information in a timely fashion
- Data loading, updating and duplicate management using tools such as Data Import Wizard, Data Loader, and Demand Tools
- Developing reports and dashboards based on business needs
- Development and implementing custom objects
- Configuring and customizing Lightning pages
- Developing and updating Communities
- Assessing, testing, and making recommendations for apps that can be acquired from the App Exchange.
- Troubleshooting and resolving user issues
- End-user training and support
The Salesforce Admin will perform complex, professional level duties in analysis, evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and maintenance.
Characteristics and Skills
- Strong understanding of cloud-based CRM applications and specifically Salesforce.com best practices and functionality
- Strong understanding of the platform, with the ability to build custom objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, process automations, and other content of intermediate-high complexity
- Experience with Salesforce Lightning (Sales, Service, Community, and Marking Cloud) including experience building, updating and managing
- Salesforce Certified Administrator is required
- Salesforce Platform App Developer is highly desired
- Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively and independently, self-manage and prioritize.
- Aptitude and desire for learning the latest technology and best-in-class business practices.
- Demonstrate a high level of passion and enthusiasm for the value of a well-run CRM in a relationship-based organization.
- Familiarity with Agile project management and working on a scrum team.
- Excellent communication and writing skills and must effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical constituents
- Performs all other relevant duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, Certified Salesforce Administrator and 1-3 years of comparable professional experience, including creative and innovative thinking, creative experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, professional judgment. The successful candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent resident. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities include:
- Knowledge of cloud-based systems technical requirement and limitations.
- Experience with Salesforce Lightning Sales, Service, and Community Cloud.
- Salesforce Platform App Developer is highly desired
- Proficient in all parts of Salesforce's configuration space, including native and custom objects, page layouts, validation rules, workflows, alerts, process builder actions, user management, roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and security.
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze problem situations, identify feasible solutions, and present recommendations in a concise, logical and systematic manner.
- Research skills in support of development of solutions
- Excellent consultative, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required to assess user needs and for interaction with a variety of users including faculty, staff and students.
- Ability to develop effective methods and processes for monitoring the completion of work assignments for assigned staff to ensure that work is accurate, completed within deadlines, and is in compliance with office policies and procedures.
- Ability to independently identify issues and develop alternative solutions, use sound judgment and discretion in all aspects of position.
- Demonstrated proficiency to create and deliver reports and analysis to help with executive level decision making
- Ability to concentrate with numerous interruptions and to prioritize work to assure the completion of tasks within acceptable deadlines.
- Ability to document clearly and concisely.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
